Chemical Peel FAQs

During a chemical peel, chemicals applied to your face cause the outer layer of your skin to slough off and reveal fresh skin. Different types of peels are available, and the doctors at Ageless Anatomy can help determine which one is best for you.

A superficial peel, also called a “lunchtime peel,” uses a mild acid and has minimal downtime. Medium and deep peels are much more intense and require longer recovery periods. The deeper peels are more effective at reducing discoloration, lines, scars, and age spots.

Men and women with concerns about their skin’s appearance may appreciate the improvements a chemical peel can provide. A chemical peel can address several skin issues, including:

  • Sun-damaged skin
  • Acne or acne scars
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Rough skin
  • Some scars, including acne scars
  • Irregular pigmentation

Discuss your complexion concerns with an Ageless Anatomy expert today to determine if a chemical peel is the right procedure for you.

The experts at Ageless Anatomy use SkinMedicaⓇ professional peels and pharmaceutical-grade chemical peels with only the highest-quality ingredients.

A chemical peel may sting as it is applied, but it generally does not hurt. Medium and deep peels sting more intensely than a superficial peel, but also provide more noticeable results.

You may experience stinging, redness, crusting, or swelling following a peel.

Following a superficial peel, you will need between one and seven days to heal. Medium peels take up to 14 days to reveal smooth, clear skin. A deep peel may take as long as 21 days to heal and could require some bandaging following the treatment. If you undergo a peel at Ageless Anatomy, our treatment experts will give you a complete post-procedure care plan and any ointments or creams needed to expedite your healing and reveal fresh, smooth skin.

MICRONEEDLING

Creams and serums may have their limits in addressing fine lines and wrinkles or enhancing skin firmness. At Ageless Anatomy, we suggest microneedling as a way to trigger your skin’s innate wound-healing process, resulting in firmer, smoother, and more toned skin.

Microneedling FAQs

Microneedling involves using a small device equipped with tiny needles to puncture small holes in the surface of your skin. The holes are tiny and not visible, but they trigger your body’s wound-healing response. Over time, your production of collagen and elastin increases to improve skin smoothness and appearance.

The procedure is minimally invasive and requires no downtime.

If you’re concerned about the appearance of your skin, you’re a candidate for microneedling. Issues that respond well to microneedling include:

  • Acne scars
  • Stretch marks
  • Wrinkles
  • Fine lines
  • Sun damage

Discuss your complexion concerns with an Ageless Anatomy expert today to determine if microneedling is the right procedure for you.

Along with triggering your wound-healing capacity, microneedling improves your skin’s ability to absorb healing creams and serums.

Once the micro-holes are made, topical products such as vitamin C or hyaluronic acid can penetrate deeper to further enhance your skin’s appearance.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a compound derived from your own blood. Following an easy blood draw from your arm, the doctors spin the blood down in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. Platelets are a component of your blood that contains growth factors and healing proteins.

The PRP is applied during or after microneedling and further stimulates your skin’s healing processes.

You may have some redness and irritation for a few days following a microneedling session, but the procedure is nothing like plastic surgery with weeks or months of recovery. You’ll have very little downtime and can go back to work or school afterward, as long as you’re comfortable.

Sunscreen is always a good idea, but it’s a must after microneedling, as the procedure can make your skin more sensitive to the sun.

The positive results of microneedling are evident after a few weeks as your skin works to rejuvenate itself.

GLO2FACIAL BY GENEO

Experience the fully customizable Glo2Facial, your ultimate 3-in-1 skincare solution suitable for all ages, skin types, and seasons.

Glo2Facial FAQs

Glo2Facial boosts the appearance and health of your skin. Specifically, you can expect a:

  • Reduction in the appearance of pores
  • Skin brightening and renewal
  • Improved skin cell production
  • Restored skin volume
  • Improvement in the appearance of fine lines
  • Enhanced texture

The experts at Ageless Anatomy evaluate your skin and can explain in detail how Glo2Facial treatment helps create the improved skin look you desire. All skin types can experience a revitalized complexion and renewed youthful glow with this treatment.

The first step in the Glo2Facial 3-in-1 facial involves exfoliation via microdermabrasion. A wand equipped with mini crystals gently rubs against your outer layer of skin to remove dead skin cells. At the same time, this exfoliation process smooths and renews the skin so it’s prepared to receive the active skin-boosting nutrients that follow.

After the microdermabrasion, active ingredients are applied to the skin to improve its texture and brightness.

The final step is an oxygen facial, which produces CO2 bubbles that burst against your skin to stimulate your body to send oxygen-rich blood to the area.

An ultrasound treatment added to the Glo2Facial facial significantly improves the absorption of the active ingredients applied during the 3-in-1 facial. It increases your cells’ metabolism and improves the circulation of your blood to your skin to provide radiance. It also increases your skin’s ability to retain moisture and tightens enlarged pores.

With ultrasound and the 3-in-1 facial, you’ll also see a reduction in any puffy appearance around your eyes.

Ultrasound is appropriate for all skin types, including sensitive skin, and the treatment is gentle, so you experience no discomfort.

DERMAPLANE

Dermaplaning is an innovative exfoliation method that involves using a blade to delicately shave the skin’s surface. This process eliminates the outer layer of dead skin cells and pesky peach fuzz (fine vellus hairs). As a result, the skin becomes instantly smoother and experiences a faster rate of cell regeneration, resulting in a healthy glow. Additionally, dermaplaning enhances the efficacy of topical serums and creams by enabling them to penetrate deeper into the skin.
