Microneedling

How Can Microneedling Help Me?

Creams and serums can only go so far in treating fine lines and wrinkles or boosting skin firmness. At Ageless Anatomy, we recommend microneedling to stimulate your skin’s natural wound-healing response to create firmer, smoother, and more toned skin.

Treatment FAQs

What is microneedling?

Microneedling involves using a small device equipped with tiny needles to puncture small holes in the surface of your skin. The holes are tiny and not visible, but they trigger your body’s wound-healing response. Over time, your production of collagen and elastin increases to improve skin smoothness and appearance.

The procedure is minimally invasive and requires no downtime.

What types of skin conditions benefit from microneedling treatment?

If you’re concerned about the appearance of your skin, you’re a candidate for microneedling.

Issues that respond well to microneedling include:

  • Acne scars
  • Stretch marks
  • Wrinkles
  • Fine lines
  • Sun damage

How does microneedling enhance the effectiveness of facial products?

Along with triggering your wound-healing capacity, microneedling improves your skin’s ability to absorb healing creams and serums.

Once the micro-holes are made, topical products such as vitamin C or hyaluronic acid can penetrate deeper to further enhance your skin’s appearance.

Can platelet-rich plasma be combined with microneedling?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a compound derived from your own blood. Following an easy blood draw from your arm, the doctors spin the blood down in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. Platelets are a component of your blood that contains growth factors and healing proteins.

The PRP is applied during or after microneedling and further stimulates your skin’s healing processes.

What should I expect after microneedling?

You may have some redness and irritation for a few days following a microneedling session, but the procedure is nothing like plastic surgery with weeks or months of recovery. You’ll have very little downtime and can go back to work or school afterward, as long as you’re comfortable.

Sunscreen is always a good idea, but it’s a must after microneedling, as the procedure can make your skin more sensitive to the sun.

The positive results of microneedling are evident after a few weeks as your skin works to rejuvenate itself.
